San Marcos suffered a 56-22 girls basketball loss at Channel Islands on Saturday.
Sierra Hearron scored seven points to lead the Royals, who open Channel League play on Tuesday against Santa Barbara.
“The girls are continuing to learn and compete,” assistant coach Aaron Solis said. “We just have to keep working hard and keep improving. Gigi Vivero had some great energy coming off the bench by creating and capitalizing on scoring opportunities.”
