Cate’s girls basketball team played its first game since before winter break, defeating Grace Brethren, 41-28, on Tuesday night.
Cate’s defense forced multiple turnovers and ended the first quarter with a 14-0 lead. Charlotte Pecot and Mikaela Li were especially aggressive, forcing five turnovers.
Elan Halpern had a team-high 16 points for the Rams. Brittany Newsome finished the game with six points. Miriam Weiss and Amber Thiery had five points apiece while Maliha Hollis added four.
With the victory, Cate improves to 3-3 on the season. The Rams travel to face Fillmore for their next game on Thursday.
