Hannah Rogers and Jordyn Lilly each scored 14 points, and Bishop Diego celebrated the new year Thursday with a 65-23 girls basketball win over Hesperia in the opening round of the Avalon Classic on Catalina Island.
The Cardinals (8-3) roared out to a 36-10 lead at halftime.
“We shot well from the outside,” Bishop coach Jeff Burich said.
Summer Soto and Deja Goodwin each made a pair of 3-pointers and K’lei Martinez tallied eight points.
The Cardinals play two games on Friday.
