Carpinteria’s boys soccer team scored six goals in its second straight Tri-Valley League match to start the season, posting a 6-0 victory over Nordhoff.
After a 6-0 victory over Bishop Diego in the Warriors league opener on Wednesday, the Warriors did it again.
The Warriors gained a 2-0 advantage over Nordhoff in the first half thanks to goals by Benjie Garcia on a penalty kick and by Diego Contreras.
Contreras went on to score two more goals in the second half and finished with the hat trick and an assist. Francisco Arroyo added two goals to complete the scoring.
Edward Delgado and Jose Angeles shared time at keeper to record the shutout. The Warriors haven’t allowed a goal in three straight games.
“With goals coming in from a variety of players in each win, it’s what our identity is about: ‘Unidos’,” said Warriors head coach Leo Quintero.
Arroyo, Contreras and Juan Pablo Alvarez all scored three goals each for Carpinteria in two league games this week.
The Warriors improve to 4-2-1, 2-0-0.
