Carpinteria fought to a 1-1 draw versus Dos Pueblos in a non-league matchup on Tuesday night.
After a scoreless first half, the Chargers scored on a goal in the 50th minute.
“Our young men stuck with it and didn’t bow down to a strong DP team which was looking to add to their lead,” said Warriors head coach Leonardo Quintero.
Later on, Eric Contreras scored for Carpinteria to even the game at 1-1. This play was made possibly through a set piece shot from Benjie Garcia that eventually led to Contreras heading in the equalizer.
Warriors’ goalkeeper Edward Delgado made three big saves to preserve the tie.
“Our whole team from front to back stepped up once again today,” added coach Quintero. “We had an even attack both offensively and defensively.”
