The Carpinteria boys soccer team showed just how dangerous it can be when it has a full roster of players.
With players back from club commitments, the Warriors blanked visiting Royal, 3-0, for their first win.
Diego Contreras scored the first goal, following a shot that Royal’s goalkeeper fumbled.
Juan Pablo Alvarez made it 2-0 early in the second half, ripping a left-footed 30-yard free kick into the bottom right corner. In the final minute, Benjie Garcia assisted Contreras for his second goal.
Coach Leo Quintero lauded the defense of Eric Contreras and goalkeeper Lalo Delgado.
“Credit to the team for staying hungry and not holding back,” Quintero said.”We attacked and defended evenly across the board.”
