Carpinteria’s boys basketball team was defeated by Santa Clara 71-34 in a Tri-Valley League game on Wednesday night.
“Tough game for us,” said Carpinteria head coach Johnny Ward. “We were just a little flat on the defensive end and it allowed them to hit a lot of shots and get to their spots.”
Jax Montgomery led the team in scoring with 11 points on the night. Mason Picerni added 10 points for Carpinteria.
With the loss, the Warriors fall to 7-9 overall, 1-3 league. Carpinteria plays host to Nordhoff on Friday.
