Jon Gaasch scored on a driving layup in the last minute and hit two free throws in the final seconds to help Bishop Diego pull out a 58-53 win over Nordhoff in a Tri-Valley League basketball game on Wednesday.
Will Goodwin and Marcos Schneider each scored 15 points to lead the Cardinals to their first league win.
Down by two at halftime, Schneider came out firing in the second half, hitting back-to-back 3-pointers to give the Cardinals momentum.
Bishop Diego is now 7-12 overall and 1-1 in league. It plays at St. Bonaventure on Friday.
