Santa Barbara High turned in one of its most balanced boys basketball games of the season on Wednesday, putting five players double figures in beating Ventura 76-65 in a Channel League contest at JR Richards Gym.
Five players scored in five double figures as the Dons improved to 2-1 in league play and 18-4 overall. Ventura fell to 13-7, 1-1.
Bolden Brace paced Santa Barbara’s attack with 17 points, six assists, five rebounds and two steals. Max Henderson made 4 of 8 3-pointers and finished with14 points, Ben Clay scored 13 points on 6 of 10 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds, Nick Busch scored 12 points and Chris Wagonhurst had 11 points.
Santa Barbara led 39-35 at halftime and expanded its lead to 56-48 in the third quarter.
