Westmont suffered its first loss of the season, dropping a 64-58 decision to Vanguard in the GSAC women’s basketball opener Tuesday night in Costa Mesa.
The Warriors had won seven straight before running into a tough Vanguard squad. Westmont was held to 27 percent shooting. Esther Lee and Kristin Karr each scored 10 points to lead the Warriors in scoring.
Samantha Doucette was a force for Vanguard. She scored 27 points and was a perfect 9 for 9 at the free-throw line.
