Westmont took charge in the second half, shooting 62 percent en route to a 79-64 men’s basketball win at Claremont Mudd-Scripps on Saturday night,
“It felt like we had a little bit of the “post finals blues” in the first half, but I really liked the way we played for most of the second half,” said Westmont coach John Moore, referring to end-of-the semester final exams. “I thought we competed, I thought we were tough.”
Westmont improved from shooting 34.8 percent from the field in the first half, to shooting 61.9 percent in the second half.
Senior Daniel Carlin recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
“Daniel got his third double-double in a row. He rebounded well and was strong inside,” said Moore.
Jerry Karczewski and Cory Blau tied each other with a team-high of 15 points.
