Carpinteria High’s annual Jim Bashore Holiday Cage Classic begins this Friday and features a number of local teams including defending champion San Marcos.
Joining the Royals and host Warriors will be Santa Barbara High, Laguna Blanca and Bishop Diego. The complete field, broken into three groups, consists of 12 teams.
The first three days of the tournament have a pre-determined schedule. The final day – Tuesday, December 23 – will decide final team placements.
The championship game will match the winner of Group A and Group B at 4:30 p.m. San Marcos defeated Bishop Diego 54-43 in last year’s championship game. The third-place game will be between the second-place teams from Group A and Group B.
