The San Marcos girls soccer team made a statement right away as a well-placed cross, coming off the foot of Kaitlyn Saperstein, connected with Tasha Wood only four minutes into the game. Although the first half finished scoreless beyond that point, the Royals dominated the second half and secured a 4-0 victory on the road.
Danielle Anderson showed her speed early in the second half as she stormed down field and capped off her run with the second goal of the game in the 47th minute. Saperstein was the next Royal to find the back of the net after a pass from Danielle set up a 1-on-1 situation in which she converted beautifully to take a 3-0 lead.
Allison Bliss topped off the game as she smacked in a header to solidify a 4-0 shutout.
The Royals improve to 1-1-1 and are to set to face Newbury Park at home on Tuesday.
