Bishop Diego and Laguna Blanca battled to a 1-1 draw on Friday in a non-league contest.
The Cardinals took an early 1-0 lead in the fifth minute but Laguna earned the equalizer in the 35th minute.
The Owls’ scoring play began on the left flank as Kendall White, Kelly Bickett and Julia Fay linked passes to move possession towards the Bishop goal. Sarah Moseley gained control off a deflection and dribbled in for the score. It was Moseley’s first goal of the season.
Laguna Blanca’s record stands at 1-2-3 as the Owls leave for winter break.
“We started flat and nervous,” reported Laguna Blanca assistant coach J.R. Eskilon. “We gave away the ball way too much in the opening 20 minutes. Bishop did well to keep the pressure on us and took the lead when we lost a mark on a throw-in. After 15 minutes, we settled into the game and started stringing some passes together. With some composure on the ball, goal scoring opportunities started to present itself.”
