Santa Barbara High won a pair of games over Santa Ynez and Louisville on Friday on the first day of the San Marcos Tournament.
The Dons edged Santa Ynez 1-0 before tackling Louisville 3-0.
Madison Moriarty scored the game-winner against Santa Ynez early in the second half, knocking home a rebound off a shot from Chiara Bernardi.
Dons head coach Jill Wolf said her team performed at a higher level in the second game, playing with more energy.
“We controlled the midfield and were able to a lot of good looks at the goal,” Wolf said.
It started with Hannah Ross putting away a pass from Alea Hyatt in the first half. Hyatt assisted on another goal in the second half, finding Moriarty for her second goal of the day. Julia Granet recorded Santa Barbara’s other goal on an assist by Julie Pitney.
The tournament continues on Saturday with a 9:30 a.m. match versus Maranatha.
