Skyler Stokes scored 18 points for San Marcos, but Oxnard broke open a close game in the third quarter with four 3-point baskets and a pair of two-pointers in six possessions and beat the Royals, 42-26, in an opening round game of the Gold Coast Classic at the Thunderhut on Wednesday night.
Stokes grabbed five rebounds to go along with her scoring.
The Royals (1-6) play host to Lompoc at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
