Andrea Fairfield hit a big shot down the stretch, helping Dos Pueblos defeat Santa Maria, 56-51 in a second-round game at the Bryan Ayer Classic girls basketball tournament in Lompoc on Friday.
Camila Casanueva came up big in the fourth quarter for the Chargers, scoring 10 of her 14 points.
“That really helped things out,” DP coach Phil Sherman said.
Hallie Magee led the team in scoring with 16 points.
“Magee continues to be pretty steady, averaging about 15 points per game. That’s greater than my expectations,” said Sherman.
The Chargers (1-2) complete tournament play on Saturday against Lompoc.
