Peyton Shelburne is the CIF 4A Division co-Player of the Year.
Outside hitter Peyton Shelburne, who sparked Cate to its first CIF-Southern Section girls volleyball titles since 1991, has been named co-Player of the Year in Division 4A.
Shelburne, a junior, shares the honor with Duarte senior outside hitter Kathy McKiernan. The Rams defeated Duarte in the championship match.
Shelburne is Cate’s first CIF volleyball player of the year since Kim Balfour in 1991 and she is the area’s first player of the year since Carly Wopat of Dos Pueblos in 2009.
Cate sophomore outside hitter Delaney Mayfield was selected to the All-CIF 4A team.
