Santa Barbara High allowed one goal in two matches on Monday but lost twice in a pair of shootouts at the South Torrance Tournament.
The Dons, making their seventh straight appearance in the South Torrance semifinals, tied El Segundo 1-1 but went on to drop the shootout 3-2. In the third-place game, Santa Barbara lost 4-1 on penalty kicks to West Torrance after a 0-0 draw in regulation.
Celso Lagunas scored Santa Barbara’s goal in the El Segundo game, giving the Dons a 1-0 lead. Ignacio Rendon was credited with the assist.
Lagunas and Brandon Sanchez were named to the all-tournament team for the Dons.
Santa Barbara (8-1-3) plays next at the Buena Tournament starting Monday, December 29.
