Jorge Garcia Torres scored the only goal, and Santa Barbara High survived a cold, rainy, windy night in Lompoc with a 1-0 win over the Braves in a non-league boys soccer game.
The game was called in the 65th minute due to the stormy conditions.
Garcia Torres drove a shot from the corner of the 18 and beat the goalkeeper at the far post. Adrian Gamez got the assist.
Angel Cervantes earned his second shutout and Santa Barbara’s fourth of the season.
Coach Todd Heil praised the back line of Carlos Hernandez, Freddy Pacheco, Alonso Salamanca and Sutter Munizich. “They played great given the conditions the game was played under,” he said.
The Dons improve to 5-1-1. They’re ranked 7th in this week’s CIF Division 1 poll.
Santa Barbara plays on Friday against Culver City at the South Torrance Tournament.
