Dos Pueblos rebounded from an opening-round loss at the Monrovia Tournament on Friday with a 2-0 victory over Whittier.
Geoffrey Chappaz converted a penalty kick after freshman Anthony Solano created the opportunity by drawing the foul.
Ameet Braganza scored DP’s second goal soon after halftime on a play started by Manny Nwosu. The junior took on two defenders before passing to Nathan Garcia who blasted a shot on goal that the goalie couldn’t handle. Braganza was there to knock it home.
It was the Chargers’ first victory of the season and their record now stands at 1-4-1.
The Chargers were beat 1-0 by Walnut in their first game of the tournament after allowing a goal in the 3rd minute.
