Dos Pueblos dropped its boys soccer season opener, 2-0, at Santa Ynez on Monday.
The Pirates scored their first goal 20 minutes into the second half on a free kick just outside the corner of the 18-yard box. The ball was shot low and the DP goalkeeper got his hands on it but couldn’t contain it.
The second goal came in the 71st minute after the goalkeeper was issued a yellow card, which resulted in a penalty kick.
DP is back in action Thursday at home against Pacifica at 3:15 p.m.
