Matthew Eaton scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, but a Providence comeback fell short as the Patriots lost to Thacher, 57-55, in a non-league boys basketball game on Saturday.
The Patriots trailed by as many as 14 points in the first half. But they stormed back and took a two-point lead with three minutes left in the fourth quarter. Thacher took the lead back in the final seconds and held on for the win.
Judah Luberto finished with 17 points and Caleb Jones grabbed 11 rebounds for Providence (0-2)
