Scott Everman’s 30 points paced San Marcos past Arroyo Grande 74-64 in a non-league road matchup on Tuesday night.
The Royals jumped out to an early 17-11 lead in the first quarter. However, the Eagles fought their way back by halftime and only trailed by a score of 31-30.
In the second half, San Marcos responded by extending its lead. Ryan McCarthy was clutch for the Royals, scoring all 12 of his points in the fourth quarter.
Kele Mkpado added 16 points and Tyson Miller added six points to go along with seven rebounds.
“Scott (Everman) played very well inside and out for us, but we also got huge performances out of Kele and Ryan,” added Royals head coach Landon Boucher.”It was a team win over a well coached program.”
With the victory San Marcos improves to 3-0 overall. The Royals will host Righetti on December 9th.
