Marko Pliso scored 17 points and Nick Thomas added 13 to power Cate to a 54-34 boys basketball win over Providence in the opening round of the Ojai Valley Classic at Villanova Prep.
“Cate’s defensive efforts seemed to frustrate the Patriots, preventing the team from getting comfortable in their half court set,” Rams coach Bryan Rodriguez reported. “The Rams led for most of the contest and did a nice job of out rebounding the Patriots 48-31, 14 of which were offensive boards.”
Matt Eaton scored 12 points and Bryan Sheets had 11 for Providence.
