Bolden Brace scored a career-high 29 points and hauled in personal-best 19 rebounds, leading Santa Barbara High to a 76-61 basketball win over L.A. Poly in the opening game of the Simi Valley Tournament on Tuesday.
Brace got the Dons rolling in the first quarter, scoring 15 of the team’s 27 points in the quarter. He made three 3-pointers.
Santa Barbara kept the pressure on and expanded its lead to 20 points (45-25) by halftime.
Guards Andrew Fay and Chris Wagonhurst had good nights, scoring 15 and 10 points, respectively.
The Dons play Cleveland High of the L.A. City Section on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
