Adilene Aldapa of San Marcos finished 13th out of 189 runners in the Division 3 girls race at the CIF State Cross Country Championships in Fresno on Saturday.
The San Jose State-bound Aldapa ran the 5,000-meter course at Woodward Park in 18:27, a new school record.
“She was a great representative of Santa Barbara,” San Marcos coach Lawrence Stehmeier.
Chloe Hansel of Las Lomas won the race in 17:35. Toni Finnane came in second, also in 17:35.
The Ventura boys won the Division 2 team championship in a division course-record time of 77:43.
