Brooke Lillywhite had career day for Westmont, having a hand in all the scoring in a 5-0 win over Ottawa, Kan., in a first-round match of the NAIA women’s national soccer tournament at Thorrington Field on Saturday.
Llllywhite assisted on the first three goals and scored the last two for the Warriors, who improve to 16-3. Ottawa ends the season at 12-3-6.
Westmont advances to the second round in Orange Beach, Ala.
The Warriors dominated the match, outshooting Ottawa 30-7. They had 21 shots in the second half.
Lillywhite assisted on Kaci Mexico’s goal in the 4th minute to start the rout. In the 29th minute, she fed Kelsey Steck for the second goal. Mexico made it 3-0 in the 48th minute on Lillywhite’s third assist.
Lillywhite scored on a rebound in the 55th minute and beat the goalkeeper on a free kick from 25 yards to complete the scoring in the 70th minute.
