Though idle on Saturday, Westmont Men’s Soccer (8-5-2, 5-3-2 GSAC) received good news about the upcoming Golden State Athletic Conference Championship that begins next week.
Due to a tie between Biola (7-5-4, 4-3-3) and William Jessup (5-9-2, 1-7-2) in Rocklin, Westmont finished fourth in the GSAC standings and will host The Master’s (9-8-1, 5-4-1) in the first round of the tournament. The game will be played at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5 at Thorrington Field.
Westmont hosted The Master’s on September 27 and played to a scoreless tie. The Warriors outshot the Mustangs 21-14 in the contest and placed eight shots on goal to The Mustangs’ five.
The winner of Wednesday’s game will advance to the semifinals where they will face either top-seeded Hope International (13-4-1, 8-2) or second-seeded Concordia (11-3-2, 7-1-2). The semifinal game will be played on Saturday, November 8.
