Dakyer Castillo Villalobos scored a header at the 80:41 mark on Friday, lifting Citrus over SBCC 1-0 in a WSC men’s soccer match in Glendora. The win avenged a 4-3 loss to the Vaqueros one month ago in Santa Barbara.
The Vaqueros (6-9-4, 5-5-4) outshot the Owls 18-14 but Citrus (4-9-5, 3-7-4) prevailed in shots on goal, 7-5. SBCC had twice as many shots in the first half (12-6) but couldn’t find the net.
Tristan Cooper made his second start in goal for the Vaqueros and recorded six saves.
Santa Barbara plays its final home game on Tuesday when Santa Monica comes to La Playa for a 2 p.m. contest.
