Lucia Johnson combines the grace of a ballerina and the grit of a competitor on the athletic field for Cate School. She also works hard at maintaining a high grade point average while taking challenging courses.
Johnson was honored as Cate’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year at Monday’s Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table press luncheon.
Johnson, a senior, plays soccer and competes in track and field for the Rams. She was named MVP of the Condor League in track last season, competing in the high jump, long jump, triple jump and 100 hurdles.
In the classroom, she carries a 4.57 GPA, with a class load that includes advanced Chinese, advanced multivariable calculus, advanced English and computer science. She also tutors in Chinese.
Dancing is one of her passions She’s reached the Advance 2 level in ballet at the Royal Academy of Dance. She started a Dance Club at Cate.
Johnson is also involved in student government, working as the school treasurer.
