Cate School’s girls volleyball team was seeded sixth in the CIF Southern Regional Tournament and will travel to third-seeded Fowler of the Central Section for a first-round game on Tuesday.
The Rams (23-1) won the CIF-Southern Section Division 4A championship on Friday, beating Duarte in four sets. Fowler captured the Central Section Division 4 title with a three-set sweep over Kingsburg. The Redcats are 24-4.
Tuesday’s winner will play the winner of the match between second-seeded La Reina and Calexico of the San Diego Section on Thursday. La Reina is the Southern Section 4AA runner-up and Calexico is the San Diego Section Division 4 champion.
The regional’s top seed is Southern Section 4AA champion Alta Loma.
