Santa Barbara defeated Brentwood 14-4 in the first round of the Division-1 CIF playoffs on Wednesday.
The Dons were led by strong doubles play throughout the match. The duo of Madison Hale and Lexy Gulden finished unbeaten at 3-0 on the day. Cade Sorensen and Marianna Alevra also went 3-0 for the Dons.
In the singles department, Summer Garrison had another solid performance en route to going 3-0.
“This might be our strongest doubles performance so far this season,” said Santa Barbara head coach Greg Tebbe. “I feel like we are peaking at the right time.”
With the victory, Santa Barbara (14-4) advances to the second round of the CIF Division 1 playoffs. Next up for the Dons is a matchup versus the winner of Harvard Westlake and Oaks Christian on Friday.
