Carpinteria couldn’t stop its late-season skid and the Fillmore running game in the regular-season football finale on Friday night.
The Flashes scored seven rushing touchdowns and racked up 355 yards on the ground in handing the Warriors a 48-13 defeat in Fillmore.
Carpinteria ended the season with four straight losses and finished 4-6 overall and 0-3 in the Tri-Valley League.
Fillmore (7-3, 1-2) blew the game open in the second quarter with three touchdowns to take a 28-7 lead. The backbreaker for Carpinteria was a 71-yard run by Hayden Wright followed by Fillmore recovering a pooch kickoff at the Warriors’ 38. The Flashes scored three plays later.
Carpinteria quarterback Jimmy Graves scored both touchdowns for the Warriors.
