Santa Barbara High’s girls tennis team received the No. 7 seed in the CIF Southern Regional Tournament and will host Granada Hills in the opening round on Tuesday.
The Dons received an automatic bid by reaching the Southern Section’s Division-1 semifinals.
Tuesday’s first-round match begins at 2 p.m. at the Santa Barbara High courts. The winner goes on to face the victor between Torrey Pines and Beverly Hills in Friday’s second round.
All rounds after the first are played at the Claremont Club in Claremont.
The 16-team tournament brings together the top teams from the Southern Section, the Central Section, San Diego Section, and L.A. City Section.
Peninsula, the Southern Section’s Division 1 champions, are seeded No. 1. San Diego’s Torrey Pines is No. 2 and the Southern Section’s Division-1 runner-up, University, is No. 3.
