BWP: DP falls at Los Osos

Dos Pueblos suffered an 11-8 loss at third-seeded Los Osos on Saturday in the quarterfinals of the CIF Division 2 boys water polo playoffs.

The game was tied at 5 early in the third period when Ty Williams scored one of his three goals to put Los Osos into the lead for good. The Grizzlies are playing their first season in Division 2 after winning back-to-back Division 4 titles.

Los Osos added two more goals in the third period to take an 8-5 advantage. Dos Pueblos could not get within two goals the rest of the way.

Dos Pueblos (20-10) suffered a blow during the match when starter Jake Griffin was hit with his third ejection during the third quarter and lost for the remainder of the game.

Blake Parrish scored five goals to lead the Chargers. He ends his senior season with 204 goals, placing him eighth on the CIF’s all-time list. For his career, Parrish scored 519 goals, sixth best in section history

Saturday’s game was moved from Los Osos to Upland High because the water temperature at the Los Osos pool was above CIF regulations.
