Kaitlyn Crooker was the engine for the Santa Barbara City College women’s soccer team, as she found the back of the net twice en route to a 3-1 decision on the road against Oxnard.
This marks Crookers’ sixth two-goal game so far this season and second consecutive performance after accomplishing the same feat in the game prior. Crooker busted her way to second place on the WSC scoring chart after the victory increased her total to 13 goals.
However Crooker was not the only scorer on the day, Emily Erwin shot in the opening goal of the game during the 15th minute.
“We rested some people in the second half,” said coach John Sisterson. “We were very competitive and comfortable throughout the game. We were worthy of the three points.”
The Vaqueros remain undefeated WSC action and Tuesday’s victory put them in first place ahead of Los Angeles Pierce.
Santa Barbara City College improves to 9-3-4 overall and 5-0-3 in league. The Vaqueros will go head to head with Pierce in a first place showdown on Friday at home.
