Mirza Dizdarevic scored in the eighth minute on Thursday night but Glendale tied it in the 50th minute and SBCC settled for a 1-1 men’s soccer tie on the road.
Dizdarevic, a freshman defender from Sweden, tallied his first goal of the year on a header off a corner kick by Aaron Aaberg. The Vaqueros (the teams share the same nickname) blanked Glendale 5-0 on Sept. 30 in Santa Barbara.
SBCC (6-8-3, 5-4-3) outshot Glendale 17-4, including 8-2 in shots on goal. Glendale is 4-9-5 and 4-6-3.
“We should have won this game, we had most of the possession,” said SBCC assistant coach Goffin Boyoko. “We just couldn’t finish.”
Santa Barbara is 3-1-3 in its last seven games, but has only scored twice in the last three outings.
The Vaqueros will host L.A. Mission on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in La Playa Stadium.
