Anika Wilson led the San Marcos girls volleyball team with 16 kills and 14 digs en route to a stunning fifth-set decider over Buena on Thursday. The Royals won by the scores of 25-17, 24-26, 25-23, 24-26, and 15-11 on the road.
Emily Allen knocked down 11 kills while also helping on defense with 11 digs. Chloe Allen was held to only one kill but made use of her versatile skill set by popping up a game high of 20 digs. Emma Harrah also was a force at the net, finishing with 15 kills, three of which were smashed in the fifth quarter to help San Marcos capitalize on the match.
The Royals improve to 3-2 in league and are set to host Santa Barbara High in Channel League rivalry matchup on Tuesday.
