Different lineups didn’t slow down the San Marcos girls volleyball team in a non-league match against Santa Ynez on Wednesday.
Taryn Stevens handed out 34 assists and Kamille Williams played a solid match in the middle, leading the Royals to a 25-20, 25-18, 25-7 victory.
“We had an opportunity to try some other lineups,” San Marcos coach Erica Menzel Downing said. ” Taryn Stevens did good job running the offense at the setter for us.”
Williams and Emma Harrah were forces in the middle, notching 7 and 6 kills, respectively. On the outside, Anika Wilson had a team-high 11 kills and Emily Allen added eight.
The Royals play North Coast Section power Campolindo in the first round of the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions on Friday.
