Providence fought off a game point in the first set of Tuesday’s match with Dunn, propelling the Patriots to the win in that game and the next two as Providence swept the Earwigs 26-24, 25-9, 25-21.
The Patriots, playing in only their second home match of the season, were buoyed by their fans as the team improved to 6-0 in the Condor League standings. Providence faces defending champion Laguna Blanca on Saturday.
Maddy Niessen neared a triple-double, finishing up with eight kills, nine aces and 10 assists. Natalie Torres and Katie Hodson matched each other with seven kills while Hodson added three blocks.
