Carpinteria swept past Fillmore with relative ease on senior night in a Tri-Valley League matchup. The Warriors defeated the Flashes 25-15, 25-16, 25-12 on Thursday night.
Carpinteria played with focus and consistency to seal in the victory versus Fillmore. Adrianna Morales led the team with four kills and four aces. Senior Shannon Callaway added another 4 kills for the Warriors.
“Every player on the team was very consistent and it was it was rewarding to see how far this team has come,” said Carpinteria head coach Dino Garcia.
Outside hitter Natalia Mares stepped up her game on the evening and had six kills by the 3rd set alone. Teagan Singer made herself available to attack the ball by quickly coming off the net, which thew the Flash’s defense off. The middle blocker had three kills and three aces on the night. Senior Jamie Brooks chipped in three kills and two blocks for the Warriors.
With the victory, Carpinteria clinched second place in the Tri- Valley League. The team improves to 10-4 overall and 9-2 in league.
The Warriors wrap up the regular season on the road versus Cate next Tuesday.
