The Carpinteria High girls tennis team took down the No. 1 team in the Frontier League, previously undefeated Thacher, on Tuesday by the score of 13-5.
The Warriors experienced balance results as they won seven singles matches and six doubles matches. Kelsie Bryant swept all three singles sets including a tough match against the Toads’ number one player in which she won 6-2. Madison Cleek and Kathryn Blair tacked on two sets apiece.
The doubles team of Makenna Pike and Natalie Saito went undefeated, contributing half of the doubles victories on the day.
Carpinteria focused primarily on cutting out unforced errors while also staying aggressive, a technique that proved to be effective.
The Warriors improve to 9-3-1 overall and 3-1 in league.
