Carpinteria swept in doubles en route to a 14-4 Tri-Valley League girls tennis win over Nordhoff.
Gabi Montes De Oca/Emily Saito went 3-0, Natalie Saito/Makenna Pike went 2-0 and then Makenna
paired with Elie Morgan to get the last set win. At No. 3, Merissa Souza/Azalea Kemp went 2-0 and Merissa paired with Lesly Zapata to go 1-0.
In singles, 1 Kelsie Bryant went 3-0 and Madison Cleek went 2-1. Cleek avenged an earlier defeat this season against Nordhoff’s No. 2 player.
Carpinteria is 5-1 in the TVL and 12-3-1 overall.
“I am hoping our roller-coaster ride is over and we have now settled into playing fundamentally sound tennis,” Carpinteria coach Charles Bryant said. “We will definitely know more after this week.”
