Santa Barbara High’s girls tennis team suffered just its second loss of the season on Wednesday in an 11-7 setback at Campbell Hall.
The Dons (10-2) have lost to only No. 1 Peninsula and No. 3 Campbell Hall this season. They can wrap up an undefeated Channel League season on Thursday against Buena.
Madison Hale and Cade Sorensen swept three sets together as a doubles team, a combination that has yet to lose a set this season. Those were Santa Barbara’s only points in doubles.
Mattea Kilstofte and Summer Garrison won two os three sets each to earn Santa Barbara’s other set wins.
“Our team played tough, competitive tennis from start to finish and we definitely improved as a team today,” reported Dons head coach Greg Tebbe. “It is always a challenge to play a top team on the road and this match will help us get ready for next week when we will play four ranked teams.”
