Carpinteria’s Kelsie Bryant completed a rare feat on Wednesday, winning a fourth straight league tennis singles championship.
Bryant captured the Tri-Valley League title when Natalie Greco of La Reina defaulted in the final due to an injury. Bryant had defeated Greco twice during team matches, 6-0, 6-1.
“Natalie is a very tough and experienced tournament player but Kelsie has been playing very strong lately. She is very happy to be a four-time champion, however,” said Carpinteria coach Charles Bryant, Kelsie’s father.
Bryant dropped only 10 games all year en route to a 46-0 record.
Bryant and Greco qualify for the CIF Sectionals on Nov. 24.
In doubles, Sophia Aulicino/Jacey Katch of La Reina defeated Cate’s Julia Gan/Mckenna Madden, 6-3 6-7 (9) 6-1. Both teams qualify for CIF
In the third-place doubles match, Carpinteria’s Lesly Zapata/Natalie Saito defeated Inga Parkel/Olivia Adelman of Nordhoff, 6-4 1-6 6-2.
