Carpinteria High will be playing football after all this weekend.
The Warriors will travel to Temecula to face Rancho Christian High on Saturday at 2 p.m. They were originally scheduled to play Chadwick but the Palos Verdes school elected to play eight-man football this season because of a low turnout of players. Chadwick lost to Cate last weekend.
Carpinteria officials scrambled to find another opponent to avoid a second bye week on the schedule.
Rancho Christian is in its third year of playing varsity football. The team has a 4-1 record, with its lone loss coming against San Diego Section small schools power Santa Fe Christian, 42-7.
Carpinteria is 3-2 after beating St. Monica last week. The Warriors play at Cantwell Sacred Heart in Los Angeles next weekend. CSH replaced Ribet Academy on the schedule.
