Kaitlyn Crooker tallied two goals and an assist on Friday, leading SBCC to a 3-1 women’s soccer victory at San Diego Mesa. It was the second straight two-goal game by Crooker, a sophomore forward from Alameda, Calif.
Sandy Grimaldo gave the Vaqueros (2-2-1) a 1-0 lead by scoring off a cross from Crooker in the 20th minute. The Olympians evened it up on a breakaway goal in the 60th minute.
Crooker put the Vaqueros back on top in the 84th minute by breaking through the defense and scoring from 15 yards. She added another goal in the 90th minute after taking a cross from Grimaldo.
“We played very well in a competitive first half,” said coach John Sisterson. “We got a little sloppy on their goal early in the second half but then we got right back at it. We got two nice wins this week.”
The Vaqueros will take 10 days off, then travel to Canyons for a 2 p.m. game on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
