San Marcos’ girls volleyball team had a strong first day at the San Luis Obispo Tournament, beating Louisville, Dos Palos and Villanova without losing a set.
“We had great first day. We had a lot of people get playing time,” reported Royals head coach Erica Downing.
Game scores were 25-19, 25-17 over Louisville, 25-8, 25-12 against Dos Palos, and 25-8, 25-13 to beat Villanova.
Isabel Bassi and Cassidy Drury-Pullen held down the back row while Emily Allen and Chloe Allen combined to lead the team in kills in each match. Downing also singled out Taryn Stevens for her performance.
The tournament continues on Saturday.
