Santa Barbara split its two pool-play matches at the Dave Mohs Girls Volleyball Tournament in Orange County on Friday.
The Dons opened with a 25-21, 25-23 victory over Canyon High of Anaheim. They lost to San Clemente, 25-17, 17-25, 15-8.
Jessyca Beksa led Santa Barbara on the day with 29 kills. Lourda Weger added 12 kills. Jackie Starnes had a solid match against Canyon, recording three aces, eight digs and six kills.
The Dons complete pool play on Saturday morning against Santa Margarita.
